Home Alarm System
Home Alarm Systems
Home alarm systems have never been as popular as they are today. With the ever present threat of domestic burglary more and more home owners are choosing to protect their property with some kind of security system.
So, what kind of home alarm system should you purchase? Well, that depends. With more and more alarms, CCTV’s, lights, and grills coming on to the market the range of equipment available is continually growing, which is good. This growth has also lead to a dramatic fall in price. So in today’s market you can now start to protect house from as little as £10 or under. However, where to start and what to buy is not as straight forward as it may seem.
Home Security
Finding the best system to secure your home has to start with knowing what you need from a home alarm system home alarm system, and to do that you have to look at your house as a burglar would. Take a pen and paper and go around the outside of your home, write down what you see, where are the weak points? Is your house well lit outside at night, could a criminal get to your front windows or door unseen? Is it easy to get to the back of your house, via an alley way or low fencing? Could a burglar gain access to your home via the upstairs windows, say by climbing a tree or ivy trestle? There are many things to consider, I have given you a few so you get the idea.
Now you have to do the same with the inside of your home. Check your windows and doors, are the locks, handles, and bolts OK, or do they need replacing? Do your windows fit properly or could they be easily prised open?
By doing this sort of analysis you will be able to prioritise, start with the biggest defect and fix that first.
Home Security Systems
Home security systems do not have to be expensive, if money is an issue at the moment start small. start by fixing bolts to your front and back door, then yo can move on to window locks etc. The big thing is not to put it off, even the smallest change can make a big difference to the security of your home and your peace of mind.
If you have a small budget, start with window and door alarms with of course the down stairs windows being the priority. If you have a little bit more money you can start to consider integrated alarm systems, but more on that latter.
Security Lights
I want to mention security lights separately because I firmly believe that if you can afford them they make a huge difference. Just one security light above your front and back door will have most burglars moving on to somewhere else.
Home alarm systems do not have to be big or expensive, every little bit you do to improve your houses security will make it harder for thieves to prosper.
