If you don’t have the answers to these questions then you need to read our home alarm reviews.

There is, as we all know, a lot of scare mongering in the press about people having their homes broken into and their property stolen and members of their family attacked. Although violent burglary is rare there is no denying it is on the increase. So how do you protect yourself?

Home security – Home Alarm

These days everyone needs to put as much thought into home security as any other area of home life, if not more.

A home alarm system should be as normal a thing to find in a house as a front door. After all, you would not buy or live in a house without a front door would you? Have you thought about how secure your front door and windows are? Well, I do not want to scare you too much, but the average home is no more secure than a garden shed. Let that thought sink in. Would you keep your valuables in the garden shed? No? Of course not, and that is why you need a home alarm.

A home alarm gives you that extra peace of mind, it deters the casual thief, it can reduce your home insurance costs, but most of all it can alert the police or a security service (depending on your home alarm).

Home Alarm – The Cost?

Home alarms have come down in price over the last few years. These days you can buy a basic home alarm for less than the price of a take-away. Yes, I know, these budget price alarms are limited in terms of functionality, but they are better than nothing.

If you are going to have a fairly decent home alarm fitted for you it is going to set you back about £300 – £500. If you are willing to buy and fit the home alarm yourself it should be less than half that. Now, the prices I have just given you for a home alarm are only a guide and are based on a normal family home. Those of you lucky enough to have large houses or specific valuables that need protecting, the cost will be considerably more.
